Today we had a free morning so it was great. All the day was sunny. We went to Malahide and were swimming in the sea. It was amazing. Actually the eater is not really that cold. After this wonderful experience we went to the Swords shopping centre and bought some presents for our families. Then we just went to the meeting point and the families picked us up. We really enjoyed this day and are looking forward to seeing our families at 4.15 p.m.

Today we had a long day excursion to Nothern Ireland but we did not need passports because it is in Europe. First we stopped at Carrick-a-Rede where we went across a very dangerous rope bridge above the ocean. Another stop was at the famous Giant’s Causeway-stones that look like steps. They are beautiful and very special. We did not see anything like this before. We spent 2 hours walking there at the seaside. On the way back we visited the capital of this country, Belfast and quickly went to see its City Hall, St.Ana’s Cathedral and also had ice cream which we got from Father Juan. It was delicious. Then we took a bus with our nice conductor Connor who took us safely home.

Today at school we watched Mr. Bean‘ s film After that we got certificates about the completion of the English course. Later on we went to the Grand Canal, the very end of the city in Docklands.

Then we went to the beach where swimming was not allowed. But we did not try it as the water was a bit dirty a cold.

The tide is really big on the British Isles. Some chiIsles were just running in the Irish sea. How I said the tide is really big there, so the water was like 30 cm high. That part of a trip was great and we can’t wait for the trip to Malahide on Sunday.

When we were having our English lessons, Linda came to see us. She is Irish and she was our teacher at the summer school in Spain and in Dobrotivá. After the classes we went to the post office to get some stamps and later we did some shopping. We bought for example a lot of souvenirs and some sweets. We met again at five. Father Juan bought some ice cream for all of us so we were very happy. At around six it was time to go back to our meeting point in Swords.

Wednesday 24 July 2019

I woke up at 6:25 and I was very tired. For breakfast I had a toast and butter like every day.
After breakfast I went to the bus stop.
The school starts at 9:30.
At school we talked about birthday. Today we celebrated David´s birthday. He was given a few nice presents and some sweets.
We had a shorter day and we finished at 13:00 and after school we went back to Swords.
From 14:15 to 19:00 we had sports such as football, handball and gladiator games and some other challenges.
After the games we went to our host families.

It was something around three o’clock and the sun was strongly shining. At that time our crazy game started. The game was about searching for places or some information. We spent something around 3 hours playing this game. In the begining we were divided into 4 groups (green, blue, brown and red). Then we had to give our phones to Angelika and only one person in each group was allowed to have a phone (if something happened).
My group (blue) got instructions to search for other instructions in the Swords Castle wall. After about 10 minutes we found it. The game wasn’t continuing like this all the time because our group did not find other instructions so we called Angelika who told us to go back. Despite the fact we were kind of tired we continued playing this game. The game ended up at the meeting point where the host families were waiting for us. It was a long hard day so we were tired, but we enjoyed it lot.

Today we met at 7:55. We had English lessons just for 3 hours so it was plushy. The ‚older‘ group was talking about movies and also writing post cards. After the classes we went to the Phoenix park, the biggest park in Europe. There we had lunch and just took a walk in the park and saw the ‚Papal Cross‘. The Cross was erected for the Papal visit of Pope John Paul II on 29th September 1979. On this day, Pope John Paul II delivered an open-air sermon to more than 1.25 million people. Also we saw ‚The Wellington Monument‘, an obelisk located in Phoenix park. After this tiring but also very interesting trip Father Juan bought us an ice-cream in the shopping centre. The ice-cream was the cherry on the cake.

Today we met at 6:40 to go to the West of Irland. We arrived at the Cliffs of Moher, one of the biggest ones in the world, by bus at around 11. We were 200 metres above the Atlantic ocean. It was beautiful and we spent two hours there. Then we arrived at the beach where there were many big stones and we also found a geocashe here! Then we visited a beautiful town called Galway. As it was raining heavily we continued on the bus for a lot of time so we read our books or spoke to each other. Our families picked us up at 8 p.m.

After two hours we went to the football field and played football. At 7:30 we went to Mass and then walked home. We have to go to beso early today because we are going to have a very long day trip tomorrow.

Friday 19 July 2019

It’s Friday 19th July and we are going now from the City center by bus to our houses. Today was very interesting, we started with five hour lessons of English like every day. We were talking about Irish musical instruments and English grammar. It was very exhausting, but interesting too. After school we went to the cinema in the center of Dublin. We watched a Spiderman movie. It was funny, because a lot of the places in the film wete shot in the Czech Republic. The film was full of action scenes. We enjoyed it very much, but popcorn was too expensive. Then we took a bus home.

Thursday 18 July 2019

Today for the first time everyone came on time to take the 8.06 bus. The journey was 1 hour long. Today we learned something about Irish music and musical instruments. After school we visited the Augustinian Church in John´s Lane. Then we went to see The Protestant Cathedral and the catholic Cathedral of Saint Patrick. Later on we spent some time shopping in Saint Stephen’s Street. We went home by bus but the bus was full and the way was faster because the driver couldn’t take other passengers. Our foster families were waiting for us. We are looking forward to going to the cinema tomorrow.

The bus 41c took us safely to the centre again and we started our usual day at school. Today we finished at 2 p.m. and decided to go to the playground to have some fun. Honzik found a football in the street the previous day so the kids, especially boys, enjoyed playing the continental version of football. 🙂 Here they prefer Irish football. After their typical sandwiches we went to Trinity College again but this time to see probably the most famous sight in Dublin. Yes, you´ve got it! The Book of Kells! It´s not only amazing because it is nicely illuminated but it is also such an old piece of script! We could see precious original pieces! Some of them dating back to 5th century A.D. Another small tour round the city was interesting as it has really cute twisted streets where history awaits you at every place. Our favourite bus number 41 safely delivered us to the meeting point to see our families again. Hopefully they have prepared homemade specialities.

Tuesday 16 July 2019

On the first day in Ireland we set off from Swords to the centre to have English lessons at our school. Cathryne and Tristan were ready to give our kids English lessons. We started at 10.30 and with some breaks we finished at 12.30 as it was one of our shorter days.  Then we headed for the very centre to do some sightseeings. We saw Trinity College from the outside as well as Dublin Castle. Both of the sights are really famous and amazing as they look totally different from what we have in our homeland. A street artist was really amusing and we had a lot of fun with him. Our kids really enjoyed his performance with fire and monocycle. Wow! The tricks he showed! At the statue of Molly Malone Father Juan remembered old good times in Ireland and started singing her song. As it was quite warm all of us were more than happy about Father Juan´s invitation for a huge portion of ice- cream. At 6.30 p.m. at the meeting point in Swords we were all expected by the families which took all of us home where we enjoyed Irish hospitability. They are all really nice to us!
